Scriabin - Diverse (Anecdote, Statistic…)

- According to modern calendars, Scriabin is born the day of Christmas, and dead on Easter. He himself had a grand interest in the figure of the Christ in his youth.
- Scriabin name originate from the word “Scribe”, the one who write.
- Already in his childhood, Scriabin developed a devotion to the piano. Her aunt recall that “At 5 years, he invariably kissed his piano before going to bed like some others children kiss a figure of the Virgin.”
- It is say that Scriabin never underdressed : Even alone at home, he never dressed casually and always wore elegant costumes. This is in line with ideal of the Dandy, a rather exentric and classy man in any circumstances, aesthetic adopted by a great numbers of artists at that time (Oscar Wilde, Baudelaire, Ravel…)
- Years before Honegger imitated the sound of a train in Pacific 231, Scriabin thought of including a plane in a symphonic poem about “Icare”.
- After listening to an indian musician, he thought that his final project of The Mystery had to be done in the mountains of Himalaya. Scriabin wrote this final project of humanity abolishing herself at the same time the WW1 had started. A close friend stated “his reaction was only incomprehension”.
