Op.12 - 2 Impromptus

Impromptus were one of Chopin’s favorite genres, full of unbroken and lyrical melodic line.
Impromptus were one of Chopin’s favorite genres, full of unbroken and lyrical melodic line.

Second set of two impromptus:

No.1 : Presto (F♯ major)
No.2 : Andante cantabile (Bâ™ minor)

The first echoes in its colours Chopin’s posthumous Etudes.
The second reflects Scriabin’s still vivid romantic spirit at the time with a sense of pathos that he would gradually leave behind. It shares similarities with Chopin’s Nocturne No.1 Op.48 in C minor.
