Op.14 - Deux impromptus

Last Impromptus in Scriabin’s entire output, composed as two pieces:
No.1 : Allegretto (B major)
No.2 : Andante cantabile (F♯ minor)
These two pieces are already distinctly Scriabin-esque. The first Impromptu features soft, lyrical lines, briefly interrupted by an exultant dance in the style of a Mazurka. The second, with its peculiar rhythmic organization—bar lines placed after the second note of a nine-note accompaniment in 9/8—possesses a noble grandeur within its melancholy.
