Op.49 - 3 Pieces

Second set of ‘’pieces,’’ divided into three works:
No.1 - Etude in E♭ major
No.2 - Prelude in F major
No.3 - Rêverie in C major
The first is burlesque and rhythmically animated. One of Scriabin’s shortest pieces (it was a personal test to see to which miniaturist level his editor would still pay him for new works!), probably a pastiche of Chopin’s Etude No.3 Op.25 with even more amusement in the harmonies. The second is a solemn and intense march, resolving in major despite its tragic character. The last one is a poem of ultimate delicacy.
