Op.67 - 2 Preludes

Toward the end of Scriabin’s output, the preludes and poems begin to merge, becoming short incantations of unknown forces and cosmic mysteries.
Toward the end of Scriabin’s output, the preludes and poems begin to merge, becoming short incantations of unknown forces and cosmic mysteries.

Set of two preludes in perpetual motion:

No.1 : Andante
No.2 : Presto

The First is an obsessive and monotonous chant, spiraling in a mysterious atmosphere, in search of something. Written in 5/8 like the languid theme of the Sonata No.5, it evokes the idea of an out-of-time wandering. The second is an erratic presto, lost and fearful, compensated by a rather romantic theme in the right hand.
