WoO 18 — Fantasy in A minor

This piece was composed righlty after Scriabin graduated from the Conservatory, receiving the second gold medal (Sergueï Rachmaninoff won the first). It was originally intended for orchestra, but was never fully completed. Technically, it is Scriabin’s only work in the four hands piano repertoire.
While the work remains rooted in traditional Romantic harmony, its inner energy, contrasts, chromaticism and impulses already bear the distinctive mark of its composter.
