WoO 23 — Variation No.2 In “Variation on a Russian Theme in G major”

Probably the most tonal work Scriabin composed after 1890.
Collective chamber music composition of 10 Russian composers (Blumenfeld, Lyadov, and others) presented to the patron under the name of its coordinator Nikolaï Korsakov in 1898. The theme is taken from a Russian folk song. The variations are written with great humor and lightness.
